A Prayer for the New Year

In the final hours of this year I’m mixed with bitter sweet emotions as I recall many wonderful successes, setbacks that made us stronger, anniversaries of painful losses, exciting new births, challenges for our continued good health and excitement of the unknown that awaits all of us in the days to come. I pray that our hearts beat and live with sincere gratefulness, that we believe we possess hands that are blessed and prepared for charitable service to others, take pleasure in eyes that are not self-serving but rather selfless, desire thoughts that promote peace, and partial to words that will aid and love each other and above all exalt the Lord’s name always! I ask these things for all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

A toast to the many woes and wows of yesterday! It is through those ups and downs that bring us hopeful and capable of much in the New Year! Salude!

Chosing The Right Path

“I told you I would think about changing my life. I just didn’t say when!” “We celebrate for her because she turned her life around. What she did yesterday we will not hold against her today.”

We may miss the everyday opportunities to receive God’s blessings because of procrastination, big egos, or deluded priorities or jealousy. You are in control of the words that part from your lips, the acts performed by your hands, and the experiences that result from your attitude. Speak words that will leave an inheritance, perform acts that are fine and decent, and share an attitude that will leave a legacy worthy of imitation. Jesus came to show us the way. With eyes wide open choose your path.

Play With Your Heart

Play With Your Heart

“You talk like you’re the “albeit” authority! Your confidence stinks!” “I don’t want to argue with you. If you really want to understand what I believe, then let’s spend time talking not debating.”

Debating will not necessarily win over an audience, a heart or a situation. We can’t put the chips on the table before a group and all be a winner. There are some people who need a guarantee of a straight royal flush, and others who feel content and hopeful with simply new cards in their hands. Life should not be approached as a gamble. A spirit filled life possesses many certainties and blessings. Play with a full deck and recognize and use all the hearts in your hand.

The Journey is the Blessing

“Blessings? Yeah, well, I’m still waiting.”

“It’s the small things that make me in awe. Everyday I’m blessed.”

We can snarl impatiently, behave spitefully and be unsympathetically rude waiting for ordinary, good, important and momentous things to happen in our lives. The truth is with a bad attitude we may never receive good service or see those great things we dream. Look closer at how far you’ve come and the many people and circumstances that aided your hardships, happiness and success thus far. God has moved mountains for you and has a beautiful day waiting to reveal His graces on your life. Enjoy the steps that move you forward, the stroke of luck that will take you off course, and the miracle that will seem too crazy to believe. The journey is truly the blessing. The reward, diploma, or finish line is simply the icing on the cake.

Design of the Heart

“Forget it. If everyone doesn’t like my help then I won’t do anything!” “Even though all will not agree, I will do what is right for the masses.”

Although our hearts can be wary of those who do not agree, possess a spirit that is stronger than fear and act on the true design of the heart that performs deeds that help, heal and offer hope.

Afraid? I don't think so!

“There are too many things I’m unsure of. I think I’ll pass.”

“Yes, I will help you. I’ve never done this before, but with your guidance I know I can follow.”

The angel of God told Mary, “Do not be afraid.” The same God sends you a similar message. All that you will encounter, bear, celebrate and experience today comes with assurances from God. He will never give you more than you can bear, He will be with you always, and He wants to bless you each day. Spend time acknowledging God’s presence in your life. The number of occurrences of His presence and blessings are many and far beyond your summation or imagination. LiVe LiKe YoU BeLiEvE!

Working Together

“I want only the best! Drop them from the group. If they can’t keep up that’s their problem!”

“Everyone has a different potential. Let’s work with everyone and see how we can help them advance.”

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” We are blessed to have the words of Jesus to comfort ourselves. Paying it forward by helping others ease their burdens and worries will keep Jesus’ resurrection and hope alive in our everyday lives.

Be The Hope

Be The Hope

“Why bother with him, he’s a lost cause.”

“I can’t turn my back on him. You stay here if you need to, I’m going to find him and try to help.”

It is easy and safe to stay among those who “have got it together.” Granted harder to put yourself out there for the one who is lost, stubborn, and seems unreachable. God never gives up on you, therefore walk with the same conviction. When possible, be the hope for another who is lost and in the dark.

Wise Thoughts Or Foolish Contemplations

“Why should I try? It will never work out for me.”

“God has shown me over and over again what I can accomplish because of Him. I won’t give up or give in. I’m going to see this through.”

If it is the Lord’s will it will come to be. If it is not, our time is not wasted because there is something better in store for us. Good quality time invested today can never be dubbed foolish.

Help myself or others?

“Why would I want to spend time with them, they’re poor, I’m not!”
I wasn’t born with all things right. I know the comfort of having someone nearby, the support of positive words, and assurance of help at hand if I needed it. Let me be there for you.

God crosses the paths of people with similar state of affairs and opposite circumstances so that we might share our varied realities and see the miraculous works of God through our weaknesses and strengths. “I do it all for the sake of the gospel, so that I may share in its blessings.”

Believe It Or Not

“I’ll believe it when I see it.” “I believe this will work out in my favor. My faith is greater than your skepticism.”

Jesus had mercy on those who believed in His power of healing. Have faith so great that evil can’t stand a chance at bringing you down.
