A precious gift from You

Lord, you gave us the gift of Jesus;
in the form of an innocent baby.
And now you have blessed me;
with one of your own to look after.

I pray for your divine guidance;
Throughout this special journey.
For you have thought me capable;
of this extraordinary purpose.

I will place this child before you;
To receive the water and Spirit.
So that my child may be made holy;
And have eternal life with you.

Lord, bless me, and my family;
That we will be worthy models.
Able to shape, form, and develop;
a child that is pleasing to you.

Open my ears to hear you Lord;
Soften my heart to love as you do.
Bless my hands to embrace my child;
A precious gift from you.
