I’ve Got A Friend Named Jesus
There is much we can learn from a person who is handi-capped; who does not have all the capabilities that we do. Many of us can walk, talk, sit, stand, hear, think, feel, smell and see without the help of others or of aids.
Jesus showed us to have compassion for others; healthy, unhealthy, rich or poor. He asks us to help all no matter our backgrounds or social status. He even goes one step further and asks for them to tell no one.
How much more meaningful a blessing you can offer to someone with your time, money, and thoughtfulness without taking any credit for it. “Unselfish” is a word that we don’t live out without somber contemplation. Is it right for me, will it take too much of my time, will it cost me anything?
Take advantage of the time and opportunities you have today to give of yourself. Practice acts of generosity, kindness, nobility, consideration, and altruism for the benefit of others. Make “unselfish” a part of whom you’ll grow to be, and ultimately a quality anyone could use to describe you.
By your assured confidence and encouraging selflessness, you would make friends with all, showing by example that closing your eyes to judgment and possessions brings great rewards and gifts. For even a blind man would know what kind of friends you keep. It would be plain for all to see that you’ve got a friend named Jesus.
Have a blessed day!

Mark 7:31-37
Then he returned from the region of Tyre, and went by way of Sidon towards the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the Decapolis. They brought to him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they begged him to lay his hand on him. He took him aside in private, away from the crowd, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat and touched his tongue. Then looking up to heaven, he signed and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” And immediately his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. Then Jesus ordered them to tell no one; but the more he ordered them, the more zealously they proclaimed it. They were astounded beyond measure, saying, “he has done everything well, he even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.
