The Outer Limits

The Outer Limits

“Can you spare a dime?” “Sorry, this is my last 20 bucks.” “I’ve got nowhere to go.” “You must have someone you can stay with.”

When and how do you give? Could you give more than what you can safely spare? Could you offer a warm comfortable bed to a person suffering a hardship? Go to the outer limits of your being. Give beyond your comfort zone, reach outside your security, and dig deeper than the surplus in your pocketbook. God blesses those who bless others. Your gifts to others will be remembered by the Lord.

Luke 21:1-4

Jesus looked up and saw rich people putting their gifts into the treasury; he also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them; for all of them have contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put all in she had to live on.”
