Look Into His Eyes

Look Into His Eyes “She will never be successful. Look where she came from!” “We couldn’t be speaking about the same person. The man I know would never be so generous!” Sadly, it seems that we may often find people more receptive to who we really are outside of our homes. Strangers, co-workers have not had decades watching us grow. They have not been prejudiced by their own expectations because they have not been raised with us. We have more freedom when we are the new one in the group, free to bring our best to the table. We think we may know the characteristics and intimate details of those closest to us. It would serve us well to speak to others outside of our homes with those who have contact with our loved one or friend. We would be amazed at what wonderful things we find out about these people we believe we know so well. Jesus could not perform many deeds of power in his hometown because the people were in disbelief. Let us not be foolish and miss the great powers of God at work in our own homes. We all have many gifts and God uses our circumstances, personalities, hands and voices to do great deeds of power. If we can look into the eyes of our brother, sister, mother, father, spouse, child and friend and see the eyes of Jesus, there will be more honor and wonder among us. Matthew 13:54-58 Jesus came to his hometown and began to teach the people in their synagogue, so that they were astounded and said, "Where did this man get this wisdom and these deeds of power? Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all this?" And they took offence at him. But Jesus said to them, "Prophets are not without honour except in their own country and in their own house." And he did not do many deeds of power there, because of their unbelief.
