Following In His Footsteps
Following In His Footsteps
“Don’t go, we are enjoying your company so much.”
When someone is engaging we want to hold on to them. When there is someone who has profound wisdom our hearts naturally want to seek more of them. When another is extremely well-rounded and shares their knowledge with humbleness and generosity we dare not step away.
Stay close to God. Stay even closer to Jesus.
Spending time getting to know Jesus is to know God. You don’t have to look any further than within your own self to know how great God is. God gave us each a heart, a soul, and a spirit. It is up to each of us to remove ourselves from the busyness of our lives and seek the quiet that possess our peace.
In those wonderful moments of peace and silence we will find holy engagement, profound wisdom, humbleness and generosity beyond what any human is capable of.
If we listen, Jesus will proclaim the good news to us. If we are compliant, we will act as He does and proclaim the good news to others. Jesus was sent for this purpose. We were created to follow in His footsteps.
Luke 4:38-43
After leaving the synagogue he entered Simon’s house. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked him about her. Then he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she got up and began to serve them.
As the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various kinds of diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on each of them and cured them. Demons also came out of many, shouting, ‘You are the Son of God!’ But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Messiah.
